Headlight restoration
I was going to follow @begood69 tips buying a few different sand papers but the guy at the local shop insisted that this $#@! works and it does. Sorry forgot to take before picture but it was caramelized.
Basically this kit uses 1000, 3000 grit then wax then sealant. Dont buy Turtle wax and Nu...forgot the name. Waste of money imho.

Yes, the compound ones rarely work.
The major problem is the lens surface is damaged. It needs to be removed and you need a fresh surface. There for an abrasive of some sort is needed.2008 E90 335XI A/T. Mr.5 intake, gutted cats, self tuned, meth injection(625ml nozzle), 93 octane e10 fuel.

For anyone out there that doesn't want to buy this specific kit.
Try using Meguiars M105 and M205 followed up with whatever wax you prefer.
I like to tape off the bumper, and run vertical strokes with the 1000-1500 grit and then horizontal strokes with the 3000 grit. Using this method you can see whether you have taken all of the lower grit scratches out and polishing is a lot easier.

Remember to continue to re-apply protection to the lens on a regular basis.
Once the OEM protection has failed, the lens will continue to oxidize unless a new layer of protection is maintained. This means waxing or sealing quite often... and even then you will likely have to polish from time to time to remove light oxidation and uphold maximum clarity.

I've used the 3m kit before, its about $15 on amazon and worked well on my WRX and my girlfriend's Kia. Need to order a kit for my car as its starting to get a few blemishes on the lights.
