I had the original Winter wheel setup from BMW with 141 style 17" rims with Goodyear Ultrac 205/17/50.
I sold those, they were absolutely not able to put any power on the road. Only good for when it actually snowed.
Which meant 80% of the time I was tiptoeing in every bent and losing traffic light sprints from much heavier cars.
So this year, since I bought my new Forgestar F14's, I put a set of Pirelli runflat SottoZero on my old original 182 style rims, 225/40/18 in front, and 255/35/18 for rear tires.
They go under the car next week.
That should keep me happy throughout all winter times, now or no snow.
There are two theories to arguing with women. Neither one works
