Audi says SUV's are now their top priority - Expansion with Q2 and Q8 SUV's possibly on the way, Lamborghini SUV likely as well

Sport Utility Vehicles are now the biggest priority over at Audi? Well, that's exactly what Audi's technical chief Wolfgang Durheimer stated at the Shanghai car show. "SUVs are our biggest priority and an SUV bigger than the Q7 is one we could do. It would fit in our offerings. Bentley has shown what can be done with a car of this size. There is no limit at VW on market access or price strategy as long as you have a business case."

Wow, he sure loves SUV's. He also intends to push for more of them in the VW Group, "I pushed for the Bentley SUV and I'm pushing for Audi to make something in this segment also. I could see Bentley and Audi both making SUVs, and Lamborghini also; in my job. I'm trying to encourage the Lamborghini SUV project to progress."

So Durheimer is pushing for the Lamborghini SUV and also for the Bentley SUV. He also seems to want to use the Bentley platform for an SUV above the Q7 as in a luxurious Q8. A Q2 is also in the cards. Basically, SUV's for the VW Group from head to toe. A Q2 sounds great but is there a market for a Q8 when that is pushing into the Bentley market? Guess we will all find out soon enough.

I was referring to actual S cars. Like a QS4 or Q4S or something, similar to what BMW does with the x6m. That was poor wording on my part.
