New Lincoln Continental - Thoughts?
http://www.roadandtrack.com/car-show...photo-gallery/
I'm sure most of you have read about the new Continental which should be dropping soon (and stealing all the thunder from the CT6).
It certainly looks good and it is definitely a welcomed departure from Lincoln's current, hideous, design language. I also think it is just what Lincoln needs to get out of its current "lightly rebadged Ford" status and into a true luxury competitor. The fact that it is rumored to have a Lincoln-specific engine is appealing.
If this is a beefed up Taurus, I will be pretty disappointed. That being said, Ford seems to have its business together (new Mustang, Focus RS, Fiesta ST, Raptor, GT) so hopefully that will trickle up to Lincoln. If not, Lincoln will continue to be nothing more than an Acura competitor (at least in my mind) (the only place that matters).

Well...Bentley's chief designer certainly doesn't like it. Which is awesome.
I especially like the "Lincoln is such an exclusive brand" dig.

American concepts tend to always be better than the real thing.
Do I like it? Well, I like it more than anything currently in the Lincoln lineup. That brand desperately needs something good to happen. You know, more than Matthew Mcconaughey.

The more i look at and read about the Continental, the less I like it. I think its a much needed move for Lincoln but, in the current competitive landscape, I don't think its enough. Plus I hate the headlights, they are too Mustang-y.
Have they announced anything on the chassis? I read something saying it was going to be based off the Fusion/MKZ (I think) chassis, but that seems nuts considering the size.
