It's easy to win a drag race in an Audi RS7 versus a BMW F13 M6
CAR decided to drag race the Audi RS7 and the BMW F13 M6. Now, the M6 is the lighter car. However, the advantage is in the RS7's court. It has an automatic transmission and all wheel drive so launching it as simple as putting your foot on the brake pedal, other foot on the gas, and then letting go of the brakes. Anyone can do it.
The M6 takes a bit more skill and CAR does not seem to have it. Obviously a drag race is all about the launch. The torque these two twin turbo V8's put out is tremendous and the M6 will have traction issues.
To get a good launch and actually make this a race the M6 needs drag rubber or at the very least the tire pressure lowered a bit and its tires warmed up to help.
Obviously that is not always possible on the street and this result is what most people will see from a stoplight. The RS7 pulling away with no drama as the M6 fights for traction.
Unfortunately, CAR provides no data on the trap speed or elapsed times for either car. Jump to to the 1:30 mark in the video to watch the obvious outcome.

Sounds like you're rolling your own smokes
seriously though, the first line in the article ending in "anyone can do it" is wrong. You need the APR tuning file to unlock two peddle left foot braking
Also, there's no launch control and there's a fine line getting enough rpm to be on the edge of boost.
Its ts way easier than my Z06 was to launch but it's not monkey proof

16-20k for a pes isn't worth it in my opinion to be short of 500hp/400tq. Car was very overrated, annoying under-steer,and a bit too heavy but that engine sound and interior was what made it fun. Crazy how overpriced kits out there too.Pretty much the same exact components as a mustang Whipple setup but magically 13 grand more. I heard one of the few pes set ups blew the engine and didn't put much power down at all. They advertised 640 at crank and cars barely made 520bhp. APR dropped their kit as there is no market for it. I blew 3 grand on a nitrous setup for it and no one would tune it.

I have no idea about all auto Audi's, I'm talking about the RS7.
here's a quote from the Audi webpage where they describe the "Left Foot Braking" that is enabled with their tune
APR's Left Foot Braking feature allows more control over the vehicle’s throttle. The factory equipped vehicle's throttle input is disabled while pressing the accelerator and brake at the same time. Left Foot Braking, a common motorsport driving technique, allows the driver complete control over the vehicle’s throttle and braking system, which may give the vehicle the edge it needs at the.....

Sorry about that, the text came over unreadable. Let's try again...

Most likely just marketing mumbo jumbo with an automatic. Notice the graphic shows a clutch pedal so I'd think this allows for a heel/toe in a 3 pedal car. Maybe there is the possibility you can brake boost it from a roll with the tune in an auto?
PES is still releasing garbage? Go back about 12 years and they released a 'big' turbo kit for the A4 (T28) that ate 6 or 7 people's motors on Audiworld... myself included. Yes, I'm still bitter as I was about 19 at the time and it damn near put me in the poor house.

I think that's exactly what it is referring to, heel-toe type action. The left foot braking is referring to the track when at speed not when starting off the line.
How does he think the RS7's are hitting these 60 foots? It's just gas and brake off the line like any other car.
Also, yes, it's absurdly easy to launch and drive and anyone can do it.BRAND NEW IN BOX 991.2 standard/non-pse SPW cat bypass pipe for sale - $899 shipped

This video is so f*cking dumb. Tiny short race with someone who can't launch a RWD car driving the RWD car and an RS7 which takes no skill to launch.
Also, the M has launch control but apparently pressing a couple buttons is too hard for people. Wouldn't expect any different as almost every damn journalist that's driven one complains about it.
Roll race would be very different.
