991.1 Turbo S with Champion upgraded turbos goes [email protected]

More and more 991 Turbos are seeing their turbochargers upgraded. The upgrades for the most past at this time consist of upgraded housings. By Design has an upgrade option which recently went 10.37 @ 137.86 in the 1/4 mile with Cobb Accessport tuning.

This car is tuned by GIAC and of course features Champion upgraded turbos. It is interesting to note the result is very similar to the By Design turbos and that is probably because both options are limited by the factory housings. Not to mention the direct injection fuel system although methanol is a popular way around this limitation on the platform.

There are two runs in the video and the second is a quicker 10.216 but a slower 135.91. The better traction off the line scrubbed some trap speed or heat soak might have been a factor.

The car (at that time) was equipped with exhaust, intercoolers, upgraded VTG's in the factory housings, and of course the GIAC software. The car has a 9 second pass in it...it's just a matter of getting to the track on a night with justthe right conditions, and it seems we have bad luck with the weather every time we try lol.

It looks like 9's are just around the corner for these setups.
