GIAC tuned Porsche 991 Turbo S destroys a Ferrari F12 and Lamborghini Aventador

This is a beatdown. PorscheBoost member @Markblackwell took his GIAC tuned Porsche 911 Turbo S to a recent event and matched up with a Lamborghini Aventador as well as a Ferrari F12. Those two Italians are high end naturally aspirated V12 monsters.

Yet, they never had a chance. The problem for the Ferrari F12 is that it is rear wheel drive. As they seemed to start from the end of the runway instead of waiting for the cones it was over before it began with the all wheel drive dual clutch transmission Turbo S launching right out of the hole.

The same thing happened to the Aventador with it being over before beginning although one would expect the all wheel drive Italian bull to do better off the line. The owner may not know how to launch or maybe he expected to go at the cones.

This is yet another race that highlights great variance at roll on events and the problem with getting an even start from the cars. From a roll and even start the F12 in particular and the Aventador should put up a better fight although they would still lose.

    It's a strong 911 Turbo.

    991 Turbo S specs:

    2015
    Champion intercoolers
    GMG Catless exhaust
    Giac Tune
    BMC filter
    Fuel VP Pump 101

Almost everyone is launching from a dig now at SS, its much more fun. Starting at cones is boring as eff. What was this car trapping in the 1/2?

Defeats the point of roll on racing and favors traction over horsepower. Might as well go to the dragstrip.

Cool story bro, let us know the next time you leave your keyboard, and are actually driving a car in an actual race. Because talking about $#@! you aren't doing defeats the purpose of talking about it. Might as well sit at your desk, and tell us all about how fast your car is.

That is a very good argument you just made on roll racing vs. dig racing. Incredible insight as always, thanks Tony.

Exactly. Dig racing is for an 1/8 or 1/4 mile. 1/2 mile racing should be rolling starts only.

Not to mention there aren't starting lights or any way to properly stage.

Of course going from a dig without prep or drag tires will favor the all wheel drive cars. We already knew that.

So I race every kind of race I can, ( Ive got the second fastest 991 1/4 mile time in the country with stock turbos the only car faster beat me by 7 hundreths of a second and he runs meth ) , I do these 1/2 mile events with shift sector and Omega motorsport, I even run 1 mile and 1 1/2 mile at Mojave I will be back at Mojave April 9th and 10. I ran at Laguna Seca 8 times last year all with this incredible car. This story is more about how silly this car makes all other brands look at all forms of racing. The best thing about them is most other exotic car owners have no Idea what these cars can do until they see the tail lights get smaller and smaller. They are totally blown away at what just happened to there 300-400- $500k car. Running from a dig is so much more fun than roll racing. somebody always jumps on a roll race, Also 1/2 mile races from a dig still give a car with horsepower time to catch up.

Shift sector is running from a dig now , they have a starting tree and if thats not working they do an arm drop. So on all these races the other car driver knew when to start.

I think that's awesome and honestly run whatever race makes you happy.

It's just that as this isn't a prepped strip something like an F12 has no chance from a stop. Especially if not on drag rubber and not doing a burnout.

Running from a dig is fun when you're winning Click here to enlarge I prefer to run from a roll at 1/2 mile events but that's me. I prefer going from a stop on the strip.

Regardless, your car is very strong and runs well and those cars didn't have much of a chance but it would have been closer from a roll as you're trapping 135 I believe.

This is why I prefer to use my iPhone 6 and the GoPro app. Once I save each video and trim it, I use iMovie to combine each clip into one movie. iMovie gives you the option to save your new movie in HD and from your gallery you can post it to YouTube in HD.
